Brownies are aged 7-10
Do I need to have been a Rainbow to become a Brownie?
No, you don't have to have been a Rainbow - any girl that is 7 can join the Brownies, although there is often a waiting list. If you wish to become a Brownie in the Winnersh area you can contact Donna on 07841518246
What do you do at Brownies?
We do lots of fun activities, we learn about people, places, science, cookery etc and we meet lots of people. If you are interested in joining Brownies but not sure come along for a taster - use the contact us page to arrange something that suits all. We hope then that you will love it so much you will join.
How much does it cost to join the unit?
We currently charge £20 for subs each term - this covers the cost of the hall, activities and resources. Some activities may charge but generally it is included in the cost. Cheques should be payable to 2nd Winnersh Brownies
What do I wear to Brownie meetings?
Brownies can choose their outfit from a range of section wear. The clothes are designed for having fun and are stylish, practical and economical. There is something to suit every Brownie whatever she is doing, indoors or out – so she is bound to find something she will love to wear. We only tend to wear our sash when we are out and about or at enrolment.
Can I help with the Brownies?
We always value the help of mum's (and dad's!) - so if you want to put your name down for helping out some of the sessions, email us or mention it at the meeting.
If you want to volunteer to help with Brownies on a more permanant basis...guiding is for everyone, regardless of race, faith, background or ability. If you are between the ages of 18 and 65 and can provide two referees and undertake a Criminal Record Disclosure check, you can volunteer with us. Our Leaders are women between the ages of 18 and 65. There are also thousands of male volunteers supporting guiding. They do this in a variety of ways but they are not able to become Leaders. The most important thing is that you bring energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to try new things to your role. You can check out the girl guiding website or speak to us at the meeting.
